About this policy
This policy covers the OFFSCREEN iPhone app and offscreenofficialapp.com. OFFSCREEN is operated by Joseph Vincent Acosta in California, United States. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Information we use
App features. OFFSCREEN stores app-blocking selections, sessions, progress, settings, journal entries, transcripts, recordings, and any selected wallpaper photo on your device. With your permission, it uses Apple's Screen Time, microphone, speech-recognition, HealthKit, and Motion & Fitness features. Apple's speech recognition may process audio on Apple's servers. Step counts are used locally for walking goals.
Sign-in and purchases. Sign in with Apple provides an identifier used for authentication and report records. Apple handles App Store payments. RevenueCat processes identifiers and purchase information for subscription management and reporting. OFFSCREEN does not directly collect your payment-card details.
Website and support. Joining the launch list provides your email address. The signup service also stores the signup time, referring page URL when available, and a country code when available. Cloudflare stores these records. If signup confirmations are enabled, Resend processes your email address to send the confirmation. The list can be exported to send the launch notification. Hosting and email services may process technical request or delivery information. Contacting support provides your email address and the information you include in your message.
Optional AI weekly reports
With your permission, OFFSCREEN sends reflection text or transcripts, selected reasons, reflection identifiers and timestamps, lock durations, time-zone information, and progress inputs to its Cloudflare-hosted report service. That service uses OpenAI to generate personalized reports from reflection inputs and derived summaries.
The report-generation request to OpenAI does not include recorded audio, step counts, raw HealthKit records, wallpaper photos, or your Apple sign-in identifier. Your reflection text may still contain personal information you choose to include. Service providers may retain records under their own policies and process information outside your country.
How information is used
Information is used to operate app features, authenticate users, manage subscriptions, generate optional reports, send signup confirmations and the launch notification, and respond to support and privacy requests. Providers involved include Apple, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, and OpenAI, plus Resend when confirmations are enabled. External links to Discord and social networks lead to services with their own privacy policies.
Storage and your choices
The app keeps up to 50 recent reflection entries locally. Queued report inputs are removed from the report database after successful scheduled generation; failed requests may remain queued for retry.
You can change app permissions in iOS settings. Disable future reports withdraws permission for future AI reports and requests removal of queued inputs; previously generated reports remain. Start Fresh clears local reflection/progress history and requests deletion of server reports and queued inputs. These controls require a successful connection for server changes. They do not delete all account, purchase, provider-log, or backup records, or cancel a subscription.
Email [email protected] to request access, correction, or deletion of your information, removal from the launch list, or help with these controls. Rights available to you depend on your location.
Children and policy updates
OFFSCREEN's minimum user age is 9. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to OFFSCREEN, contact [email protected] to report the concern or request removal. Avoid sending sensitive journal content or recordings in your initial message.
We may update this policy as OFFSCREEN develops. Changes will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
